Pop star Britney Spears and husband Kevin Federline are doing a six-episode reality series for UPN that will include footage of home videos they shot themselves during their courtship, engagement and wedding. In addition, the show will have a second window on UPN’s Viacom corporate cousin, the MTV Music Group Channels. The series, which will air during May sweeps, was announced Tuesday by Dawn Ostroff, president, UPN.

UPN is also shooting new footage and commentary with Ms. Spears and Mr. Federline that will guide viewers through their story.

“I feel that last year the tabloids ran my life, and I am really excited about showing my fans what really happened rather than all the stories, which have been misconstrued by journalists in the past,” Ms. Spears said in a UPN press release. “As I mentioned before, I am now going to be expressing my personal life through art. This series will show us falling in love and all the adventures that went on overseas during the European leg of my Onyx Hotel tour. It’s going to be an exciting ride.”

The deal includes repeat broadcasts of the series on MTV and/or VH1 music channels, which will run after the initial UPN broadcast. Leading up to the finale on UPN, the MTV Music Group channels will run a marathon of the already televised episodes.

Ms. Spears and Mr. Federline are executive producers.
