MTV Networks’ upcoming gay-themed channel Logo is teaming with LPI Media, publisher of The Advocate magazine, to create television specials and an online news service.

The deal calls for Logo and LPI to produce five specials a year based on content from LPI publications, including The Advocate (which covers news), Out (culture) and The Out Traveler (travel). The online service will be located at Logo’s site-www.logoonline.com-starting in the fourth quarter.

“I am very proud to partner with LPI Media not only because of its dominant role, but because the company is a true pioneer in the LGBT [lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender] marketplace and the larger media landscape,” said Logo President Brian Graden. “They are continual proof that gay media is a real and viable business.”

Logo launches in 10 million homes June 30.
