Debra Messing and Megan Mullally looked more like Lucy and Ethel Friday night at the 2005 Crystal + Lucy awards hosted by Women in Film-except when Mullally fondled Ms. Messings’ breast during their acceptance speech to illustrate the trust the comedy team shares-nothing too shocking to someone who’s caught their hit show on NBC, “Will & Grace,” where awkward advances are just part of Grace Adler and Karen Walker’s relationship.

The ceremony, hosted by the funny Jennifer Coolidge, honored the NBC stars with the Lucy Award for Innovation in Television, which is given annually to individuals whose lives and work reflect the accomplishments of the late comedienne Lucille Ball.

This award comes as “Will & Grace” enters its eighth season and only a week and a half after it was announced that Ms. Mullally will host her own syndicated talk show, premiering in 2006.

The theme of the night was partnerships, since other honorees included the Fortis Films sister team of Sandra Bullock and Gesine Prado and the 14-year-long production and management team of Jaime Rucker King, Nina Shaw and Jamie Foxx, who all were honored with the Crystal Award for their work in helping to expand the role of women within the entertainment industry.
