Ratings Climb for Game 7 of NBA Finals

Ratings climbed Thursday night for the deciding Game 7 of the NBA Finals. The San Antonio Spurs’ victory over the Detroit Pistons drew a 13.9 rating and 23 share in metered markets, up 32 percent from Game 6 Tuesday night. After getting off to a slow start, with the first four games of the series averaging an 8.6/14, the last three games have averaged 11.5/19. Last year’s five-game series between Detroit and the L.A. Lakers averaged 11.5/20, and the 2003 six game series between San Antonio and the New Jersey Nets averaged a 6.5/12. Ratings for Game 7 peaked at 17.9/33 during the 11:45-midnight quarter hour. The game drew a 51.6/67 in San Antonio and a 49.1/68 in Detroit.
