Rick Haskins to Exit Lifetime

Rick Haskins, who has headed Lifetime’s programming efforts for the past year, is leaving the network at the end of July.

Mr. Haskins, executive VP and general manager of Lifetime Entertainment Services, was officially offered the network’s top programming post by new Lifetime CEO Betty Cohen, but they couldn’t come to terms. A search for a programming chief is being launched.

In a statement released Thursday, Lifetime said, “Since joining the company six years ago Rick has made enormous contributions to the brand from overseeing innovative marketing campaigns and his oversight of the programming department-sparking eight consecutive months of ratings increases.” In a statement Mr. Haskins said, “It’s been a wonderful and exhilarating ride, and I’m very proud of all I’ve accomplished. But now there’s a next chapter in my life story to create.”

Mr. Haskins was head of Lifetime’s marketing efforts and picked up programming responsibilities when Barbara Fisher left the network last year. Since then the network’s original movies have been expanded and the network has developed and acquired additional programming, including “Frasier.”
