Cablevision Panel Retains Advisers: Cablevision Systems said Monday that the special committee formed to review a bid from the controlling Dolan family to take the cable company private has retained investment banks Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley as its financial advisers.

The committee, which consists of board members Thomas Reifenheiser and retired Navy Vice Admiral John Ryan, was formed after the Dolans proposed to take the cable company private in a $7.9 billion deal that would also spin off Rainbow Media, including its three cable channels, into a publicly traded company.

Cablevision said the committee is in the “beginning stages of its evaluation” of the Dolan offer.
