CNBC President Mark Hoffman is looking for new leadership for the channel’s prime-time programming effort. Mr. Hoffman notified CNBC staffers late Tuesday that he has reassigned Bob Meyers, senior VP of prime-time programming, to a position in which Mr. Meyers will “assist me with a series of projects related to the execution of key business initiatives at CNBC.”

“We are just beginning our search to find a replacement for Bob,” said Mr. Hoffman, who omitted any references to Mr. Meyers’ connection to such former shows as “Dennis Miller” and “John McEnroe” while crediting him for his role in the more recent development and launch of “Mad Money With Jim Cramer” and “The Big Idea With Donny Deutsch,” as well as contributions to the development of CNBC’s digital media strategy and CNBC’s new headquarters, which opened last year. Mr. Meyers’ new title has not been determined.

Prime-time VP Susan Krakower has been asked to serve as interim chief of prime-time and weekend programming.
