David Neal has been named executive producer of NBC Sports, the network announced Monday. He will be only the sixth person to hold that post.

Mr. Neal, who was executive VP of NBC Olympics, succeeds Tommy Roy, who has held the post since 1993 and will be relocating to Florida to spend more time with his family. Mr. Roy will continue to produce NBC’s golf coverage.

NBC Sports also named Sam Flood coordinating producer. Mr. Flood was producer of NBC’s NASCAR and NHL hockey broadcasts. In addition to their new responsibilities, Mr. Neil and Mr. Flood will continue in their previous roles.
