CBS is giving the green light to the character-based drama series “Love Monkey” for a midseason pickup.

The Sony Pictures Television/Paramount Network Television project is based on the novel of the same name by Kyle Smith, which follows the professional and personal life of a record producer.

Tom Cavanaugh and Jason Priestley are series regulars, and Michael Rauch and Mark Johnson are executive producing.
