CBS Wins Total Viewers, Ties ABC in Adults 18 to 49; ‘Home Edition’ Tops Demo

CBS was the top network for the week ended Aug. 14 in total viewers and tied ABC for No.1 in the adults 18 to 49 demographic. ABC also scored the highest-rated show in the advertiser-friendly demo with its feel-good reality series “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”

“Makeover” scored a 4.9 rating, according to Nielsen Media Research. That bested repeats of CBS’s “CSI” (4.5), “CSI: Miami” (3.7) and “Two and a Half Men” (3.6), as well as the AFC-NFC Hall of Fame football game on ABC (3.5).

“CSI” won in total viewers with 13.9 million, eclipsing “Makeover’s” 11.7 million. CBS’s “Without a Trace” came in with 11.5 million viewers, followed by “CSI: Miami” (11.4 million) and “60 Minutes” (10.9 million).

CBS and ABC tied for the week in the demo with a 2.3, followed by Fox (2.0), NBC (1.9), UPN (1.0) and The WB (0.8).

CBS scored 7.3 million total viewers, followed by ABC (6 million), NBC (5.8 million), Fox (4.5 million), UPN (2.5 million) and The WB (1.9 million).
