Honda, Adult Swim Sponsoring Animated Short Film Contest

American Honda Motor Co is sponsoring a contest with Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, the network said Monday. Spots running during Adult Swim on cable invite viewers to submit original animated shorts via the Adult Swim Web site. The winner’s short will be presented on adultswim.com and Adult Swim video-on-demand. The contest coincides with the launch of Honda’s campaign for its 2006 Civic models, which uses the slogan “Civic: It will reverse your thinking.” “We see this as the perfect opportunity for every would-be animator out there to show us how crazy they could get and beat us at our own game,” aid Mike Lazzo, senior VP of Adult Swim. “I personally can’t wait to see what comes in.”
