New England Cable News Slates Hurricane Relief Special

New England Cable News, based in Boston, is joining forces with the American Red Cross and Citizens Bank to raise funds for Hurricane Katrina relief. NECN will run the special “New England Cares” live Thursday, Sept. 8, from 7-9 p.m. (ET).

News anchors Chet Curtis, Jim Braude, Leslie Gaydos and Steve Safran are helming the special, which will feature interviews with Katrina survivors, live call-ins from viewers and breaking news from NECN’s affiliate reporters at ABC and its partner newspapers.

NECN is run through a partnership between Comcast and the Hearst Corp. The network reaches 3.2 million households in more than 1,000 cities and towns in New England.
