Verizon Communications said Thursday that it struck a long-term carriage agreement with The Weather Channel along with all-local weather network Weatherscan on Verizon’s new video service FiOS TV.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, Verizon said it struck the deal ahead of its launch of FiOS in Keller, Texas, on Sept. 22. FiOS will feature both The Weather Channel and Weatherscan, a channel that provides local weather information geared specifically for subscribers in a particular area.

The pact is part of a string of carriage agreements that Verizon has inked in recent weeks as it prepares to roll out FiOS in more markets in the coming weeks.
