Comedy Central acquired the 2008 cable rights to Matt Groening’s animated series “Futurama,” the network announced Thursday.

The deal with Twentieth Television includes all 72 episodes of the show, which originally aired on Fox.

Currently, “Futurama” airs on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, which made a five-year deal for the show in 2002.
