Comedy Central has renewed “Mind of Mencia” for a 13-episode second season and signed a deal with star Carlos Mencia that includes a one-hour stand-up special and a nationwide stand-up tour. For its first season “Mind of Mencia” was a solid success for the network, averaging 1.4 million viewers.

“Carlos’ visceral, take-no-prisoners comedy instantly struck a chord with our audience turning ‘Mind of Mencia’ into one of the most successful new comedies of the year,” said Lauren Corrao, executive VP of original programming and development for Comedy Central. “We are thrilled to renew the series for a second season and continue to build our relationship with Carlos, both on and off the screen.”

The new season will premiere in March of next year.
