‘Survivor’ Finale Drives CBS Ratings

For the week ended Dec. 11 CBS won the ratings race in both total viewers and the adults 18 to 49 demographic with help from the finale of its reality veteran “Survivor: Guatemala.”

CBS’s Thursday night procedural “CSI” was the top program in both total viewers (31 million) and adults 18 to 49 (10.6), while Sunday night’s “Survivor” finale took second place in the demo with a 7.7. ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” was third with a 7.2. Regular Sunday night top performer “Desperate Housewives” on ABC was pre-empted for the week by a two-hour “Extreme makeover: Home Edition.”

In total viewers CBS’s “Without a Trace” took second place with 21.8 million viewers, followed by the “Survivor” finale with 21.2 million.

CBS was tops for the week in the demo with a 4.4, followed by ABC (3.4), NBC (3.1), Fox (2.6), UPN (1.5) and The WB (1.2).

In total viewers CBS was No. 1 with 14 million viewers, followed by ABC (9.5 million), NBC (9.4 million), Fox (5.8 million), UPN (3.6 million) and The WB (3.1 million).
