Fox has ordered a weekly late-night comedy talk show hosted by comedian Spike Feresten for fall 2006. The half-hour show, which has the working title “Talk Show With Spike Ferensten,” will air Saturdays at midnight (ET) following sketch comedy series “MadTV.”
In a departure from the traditional late-night talk format, guests will deliver the monologue and participate in comedy sketches. The show will also feature field pieces, mock commercials and pop-culture parodies and will have a live studio audience.
Todd Yasui, Fox senior VP of late-night programming executive produced the test pilots for the show, which was developed by Fox’s alternative department. The show is a production of Fox Television Studios. Mr. Feresten also serves as an executive producer.
