Sony Pictures Television’s new first-run talk strip slated for fall 2006, “The Greg Behrendt Show,” has been cleared for syndication in 87 percent of the country, including 24 of the top 25 markets. That announcement was made Monday by John Weiser, president of distribution for Sony.
In other syndication news, Tribune Entertainment has cleared its weekend off-network, one-hour “American Idol Rewind” in 65 percent of the U.S., including 24 of the top 25 markets, for this fall.
In addition, Program Partners has cleared in syndication its two-hour weekly “Crime Watch” block in more than 60 percent of the U.S. “Crime Watch” packages the prime-time Canadian dramas “Cold Squad” and “Stone Undercover,” neither of which have been televised in the U.S.
“Behrendt” is a relationship/talk project hosted by comedian and “He’s Just Not That Into You” author Greg Behrendt. “Rewind” is the reformatted first season of Fox’s musical reality series “American Idol.”
