Philips Promoted at News Corp.

Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. said Tuesday it has promoted Jeremy Philips to executive VP of the office of the chairman, overseeing the company’s Internet properties and overall acquisition strategy.

Mr. Philips will be responsible for acquisitions and strategy across the company as well as manage the media giant’s Internet investments. He also will join the company’s executive management committee. Mr. Philips had been senior VP of the office of the chairman, reporting to Mr.

Murdoch, since June 2004.

Before joining News Corp., Mr. Philips was vice chairman of eCorp and held positions at investment bank Citigroup and consulting firm McKinsey & Co.
