Cartoon Network’s late-night Adult Swim block announced a new programming slate at its upfront event Thursday in New York.

Among the new series are “Death Clock Metalocalypse” (following the world’s most popular-and destructive-heavy metal band), “Saul of the Mole Men” (during an expedition to the Earth’s core, an explorer finds a civilization of mole men; combines live action, puppets and animation) and “Frisky Dingo” (supervillain finds destroying the planet complicated and tedious).

Adult Swim also has ordered new seasons of “Robot Chicken,” “Family Guy,” “Tom Goes to the Mayor,” “The Venture Bros.” and other series.

The slate comes as Adult Swim completes its first year as an individually rated network. During the first quarter of 2006, the service was the top-rated basic cable network among both men 18 to 24 and men 18 to 34.
