Allstate Signs Multiyear Title Sponsorship Deal for Sugar Bowl

Allstate Insurance has signed a multiyear sponsorship agreement with the Fox network and the Sugar Bowl Committee to become the title sponsor of the annual college football game, the company announced Wednesday.

In teaming with the Sugar Bowl, the Northbrook, Ill.-based insurance giant adds to the company’s portfolio of more than 50 college football sponsorships. The first Allstate Sugar Bowl will be played Jan. 3, 2007, at the Superdome in New Orleans. The sponsorship lasts four years.

Allstate replaces cellphone company Nokia, which was the title sponsor of the Sugar Bowl for 10 years.

As part of the pact with the Sugar Bowl, Allstate will also become the title sponsor of the 2008 BCS National

Championship Game, which also will be held at the Superdome. In addition, Allstate said it plans to link its

sponsorship of more than 50 Division 1A universities to the Sugar Bowl.
