Former WB publicity executive Keith Marder has been named director of communications for the CBS Corp.-owned digital and cable programming service CSTV Networks. The announcement was made Wednesday by CSTV Networks CEO Brian Bedol and Gil Schwartz, executive VP of corporate communications for CBS. Mr. Marder will report to Mr. Bedol and will be based in New York.

Mr. Marder spent seven years at The WB, where he served as director of network communications. Before joining The WB, he spent several years in print journalism as a sports writer and a TV critic. While on the hockey beat at the Albany (N.Y.) Times Union, he helped create the first-ever independent college hockey national rankings, something now done at CSTV. After 10 years in the sports department he shifted his focus to television, becoming the paper’s critic, before moving to the Los Angeles Daily News. He is also a co-author of “The Notre Dame Football Encyclopedia.”
