Fox’s MyNetworkTV has signed an affiliation agreement with KTTU-TV, Belo Corp.’s UPN affiliate in Tucson, Ariz., the 71st-largest market in the country. The Tucson clearance, announced last Friday, increases MyNetworkTV affiliates to 65 stations reaching more than 55 percent of the TV homes in the country.

Belo also announced Monday that KTTU will become the over-the-air home in Tucson for the Arizona Diamondbacks beginning with the 2008 season.

Fox Television Stations CEO Jack Abernethy said in the affiliation announcement, “Belo Corp. is one of the country’s strongest station groups and this affiliation with KTTU establishes a strong link for MyNetworkTV to viewers and advertisers in Tucson.”

“MyNetworkTV’s programming will provide a mix of fresh, new shows on KTTU that will attract viewers in key target groups,” said Dunia Shive, Belo’s president of media operations, in the announcement. “When combined with our current Fox affiliate, KMSB-TV, this dual-station partnership will strengthen our advertising revenue opportunities and existing presence in Tucson.”

MyNetworkTV is scheduled to debut Sept. 5.
