Actor John O’Hurley, who became a household name last summer thanks to ABC’s reality show “Dancing With the Stars,” is taking over hosting duties for FremantleMedia North America and Tribune Entertainment’s syndicated game show “Family Feud,” starting next season.

“Feud,” which originally launched in 1976 with Richard Dawson as host, will be revamped for the 2006-07 season with a new set and Mr. Hurley replacing current host Richard Karn.

This is not Mr. O’Hurley’s first hosting gig. Aside from hosting the Ms. America Pageant in 2005 and Fox’s “Great American Spelling Bee” in 2004, he hosted the Fremantle/Tribune syndicated game show “To Tell the Truth” for two seasons starting in 2000. Mr. O’Hurley’s notable TV series appearances include guest starring as J. Peterman on “Seinfeld.”
