Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group said Thursday it has named Simon Kenny president of the newly formed Warner Bros. Digital Distribution unit.

Mr. Kenny will manage electronic distribution streams of Warner Bros. studio product over existing, new and emerging digital platforms, including electronic sell-through, pay-per-view, video-on-demand and wireless. He will be responsible for the studio’s global digital strategy, digital services partnerships and related business activities. He reports to Keith Tsujihara, president of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group.

The digital distribution unit is one of several that make up the studio’s home entertainment group, which was formed in October. Other units include Warner Home Video, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Warner Bros. Technical Operations and Warner Bros. anti-Piracy Operations.

Mr. Kenny previously served as executive VP of Warner Bros. International Television Distribution’s European operation, working out of the company’s London office. He will relocate to Burbank, Calif., at the end of May. No replacement for Mr. Kenny has been named.

Before joining Warner Bros. in 2003 Mr. Kenny spent a decade at The Walt Disney Co. focused on international distribution. Before that he worked at Young & Rubicam Europe.
