Fox Wins Week in Demo; CBS Tops in Viewers

In what has become a pattern over the past several weeks, Fox is once again tops in the adults 18 to 49 demographic while CBS is No.1 in total viewers.

For the week ended April 23, Fox’s Tuesday edition of “American Idol” was No. 1 in adults 18 to 49 and total viewers. “Idol” Tuesday scored an 11.4 in the demo and garnered 28.4 million total viewers, numbers that include live-plus-same-day viewing, according to Nielsen Media Research.

No.2 in both rankings was Wednesday’s “Idol,” which scored an 11.3 in the demo and 27.6 million viewers. Fox’s “House” followed with an 8.8 rating and 22.6 million viewers. CBS’s “CSI” was fourth in total viewers with 18.9 million, while ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” held the same rank in adults 18 to 49 with a 6.2.

Fox was No.1 in adults 18 to 49 with a 4.1, followed by CBS (3.3), ABC (2.8), NBC (2.4) The WB (1.3) and UPN (1.2). In total viewers CBS was tops with 11.8 million, followed by Fox (9.8 million), ABC (7.9 million), NBC (7.1 million) and The WB and UPN (both 2.9 million).
