Producers of the Fox hit “24” are considering changing locales for the series as main character Jack Bauer, played by Kiefer Sutherland, deals with the aftermath of an assassination attempt against him.

“We’ve discussed going to a foreign location or another city just to widen the palette of ’24,'” Howard Gordon, the show’s executive producer, said in an interview with TelevisionWeek publisher Chuck Ross. “After five seasons in L.A., I feel it’s getting shopworn.”

The Jack Bauer character became an assassination target at the end of last season after breaking into China’s embassy.

TVWeek’s exclusive interview with Mr. Gordon will be available online at TVWeek.com later today.
