ABC is removing the White House drama “Commander in Chief” from its Thursday schedule, replacing the 10 p.m. (ET) series with the newsmagazine “Primetime.”

“Commander,” which premiered last fall after much buzz, suffered from creative and ratings challenges throughout the season. ABC said it has no plans yet for the few remaining unaired episodes.

The show, which stars Geena Davis as the president of the United States, is not considered a strong contender for a second season.
