Fox easily won the first Tuesday night of May sweeps in adults 18 to 49 with its one-two punch of “American Idol” and “House.”

“Idol” scored an 11.0 preliminary national rating in adults 18 to 49, a number that includes live-plus-same-day viewing, according to Nielsen Media Research. That was “Idol’s” lowest-scoring Tuesday of the season but still strong enough to be the highest-rated program of the night. “Idol” lead-out “House” was No. 2 for the night in the demo with an 8.7 rating.

NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU” was the third-highest-rated program for the night in adults 18 to 49 with a 5.3, a number that also gave NBC a win at 10 p.m. CBS’s “Dynasty” reunion special underperformed in the 10 p.m. time period with a 1.6, allowing NBC to grab the title of highest-rated network for the night behind Fox.

At 9:30 p.m. NBC sitcom “Teachers” wrapped up its six-episode run with a 2.1 rating, a series low.
