Lifetime has ordered an additional seven episodes of its comedy “Lovespring International,” even though the series has yet to debut. The Thursday announcement expands the series’ original six-episode order to 13.

“We feel ‘Lovespring International’ is truly funny, fresh and potentially breakthrough,” said Susanne Daniels, president of entertainment for Lifetime. “The current television landscape on cable does not include many new half-hour comedies and ordering a full 13 episodes gives it the best possible shot at success and time to find an audience.”

“Lovespring,” a half-hour improvisational comedy from Eric McCormack and Michael Forman’s Big Cattle Productions, is set in a Beverly Hills dating service.
