NBC Universal Sports said Tuesday that it has added former Green Bay Packer Sterling Sharpe to the broadcast lineup for its “Football Night in America” studio show, which will debut in the fall.

Mr. Sharpe, who has done TV work with ESPN and NFL Network, will serve as an analyst on the program.

Since acquiring the rights to Sunday night NFL games, NBC has been assembling its announcing team, landing standouts such as John Madden, Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth, Sports Illustrated writer Peter King and Jerome Bettis, who retired from the world champion Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this year. Mr. Sharpe will continue to serve as an analyst on NFL Network.
