Viral Video: Bush’s Greatest Trips

TelevisionWeek is trawling cyberspace to find the hottest video clips spreading on the Web.

The setup: Call it a State of the Union address, a speech to the nation, or, really, whatever you want. That’s straight from the commander-in-chief’s mouth in a series of trip-ups and slip-ups in speeches made by the president and cobbled together into a fresh snippet of viral video. Other Bushisms: “Too many Ob-Gyns aren’t able to practice their love of women all across the country”; “If you are a single mother with two children … and you are working hard to put food on your family”; and, “America needs a military where our breast and brightest are proud to serve.”

The source: Rob Nolte, chief creative officer for Break.com, crafted the clip April 25, and the site posted it April 26. He pulled the clips from various online news sources. Many of the clips were from the 2004 presidential campaign, but as evidenced by the number of hits on Break, users still enjoy a good laugh at the president’s expense.

The hits: Within the first two days, the clip had been viewed nearly 200,000 times. 
