ABC was the top network in the adults 18 to 49 demographic Tuesday due to the ratings performance of Game 3 of the NBA Finals that featured a Miami Heat victory over the Dallas Mavericks. The game scored a 4.3 preliminary national rating in the demo, a number that includes live viewers and those who watched the show the same day on a digital video recorder, according to Nielsen Media Research.

On NBC at 9 p.m. (ET), an original episode of “Last Comic Standing” scored a 4.0, the highest-rated program for the night in the demo after the NBA game. A repeat of NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU” at 10 p.m. was third for the night with a 3.1.

CBS failed to generate much interest among adults 18 to 49 for its debuting reality series “Tuesday Night Book Club,” which scored a 1.7 in the demo at 10 p.m., the lowest-rated performance of any show on the Big 4 networks for the night. “Book” was down 29 percent from last week’s time period holder, a repeat of the newsmagazine “48 Hours Mystery.”
