Political veteran Andrea Jones has been named executive director of media relations for ABC News in Washington, D.C., effective July 16.

Ms. Jones, who has worked on a number of campaigns since the late 1990s, comes to ABC News after serving three years as press secretary for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. She will oversee public relations for “Nightline,” “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” and ABC’s Washington bureau.
