Emmy Spotlight: Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series

Perennial nominee Megan Mullally could be hard to beat in the final season of NBC’s “Will & Grace.” “I think voters will want to favor this beloved show,” said Lifetime research executive Tim Brooks. “Maybe all four principal cast members will get nods.” But challenges could come from surprise 2005 nominee Holland Taylor of CBS’s “Two and a Half Men” and Jessica Walter of Fox’s “Arrested Development,” among others. Also on the experts’ radar is Jenna Fischer of NBC’s “The Office,” whose performance “never seemed like acting because all her sweetness and confusion reminded us of the way we’ve all felt at some point in our lives,” as TV writer Diane Gordon put it.
