Fox’s back-to-back repeats of medical drama “House” made it the No.1 network in the 18 to 49 age group Tuesday, helping the broadcast network fend off a challenge from NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” the top-rated show of the night.

The 9 p.m. (ET) episode of “Comic,” the second original episode of the summer reality series, scored a 4.0 preliminary national rating in adults 18 to 49, a number that includes live-plus-same-day viewing, according to Nielsen Media Research.

That eclipsed the 9 p.m. episode of “House,” which scored a 3.4. At 8 p.m. a “House” repeat” (2.6) beat a repeat of last week’s “Comic” (2.1). CBS’s 8 p.m. military drama “NCIS” also posted a 2.1.

During the 10 p.m. hour, CBS was tops with an original of its newsmagazine “48 Hours Mystery.” A repeat of NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU” was second in the time period with a 2.4.

Fox, with a shorter two-hour schedule, averaged a 3.0 for the night, with NBC coming in second with a 2.8.
