About 72 percent of active Web users log on at home via a broadband connection, up from 57 percent a year ago, Nielsen//NetRatings reported Wednesday. That puts the total number of home broadband users at nearly 103 million, up from 79 million a year ago. Meanwhile, the number of home users connecting via dial-up dipped to 28 percent in May from 43 percent a year ago.

The report also found that these broadband users are early adopters of new Internet capabilities such as RSS feeds and blogs. The ratings firm concluded that the broadband Internet market has not yet reached saturation.
