Lifetime has ordered a new half-hour reality series that goes behind the scenes at a Hollywood animal agency, the network announced Wednesday.

“Off the Leash” chronicles trainers, pet owners and animal “talent scouts” as they struggle to turn pets into stars.

“This show offers a humorous glimpse at the machinations behind how a pet makes it from the home to the big screen, and it’s just as full of absurd surprises as any human actor’s struggle for success,” said Susanne Daniels, Lifetime’s president of entertainment.

The series, produced by Intuitive Entertainment, premieres this fall.
