MyNetworkTV Signs More Affiliates

MyNetworkTV on Thursday announced the signing of 10 new affiliates. The new deals boost the clearance for the network to 149 markets, representing 85 percent of the TV homes in this country.

MyNetworkTV is scheduled to launch Sept. 5 with 12 prime time hours per week of telenovelas.

The new affiliates include: KTFO-TV, Clear Channel’s UPN affiliate in Tulsa, Okla. (the 61st largest TV market in the country); WNFM-TV, Comcast’s cable-only UPN affiliate in Fort Myers-Naples, Fla. (market No. 66); KSCC-TV, Mercury Broadcasting’s UPN affiliate in Wichita, Kans. (market No. 67); XHRIO-TV Entravision Communications’ secondary Fox affiliate in Harlingen-McAllen-Brownsville, Texas (92); KOTR-TV, a new station owned by Mirage Media 2 in Monterey-Salinas, Calif. (125); KUVI-TV the UPN affiliate owned by KUVI License Partnership, G.P. in Bakersfield (128); and KEBQ-TV an independent station owned by MBC 1, LLC, in Beaumont-Port Arthur, Texas (140).

The new affiliates also include three digital-only stations: KKTV-DT operated by Gray Television’s CBS affiliate in Colorado Springs-Pueblo, Colo. (93); WYTV-DT, operated by Chelsey Broadcasting’s ABC affiliate in Youngstown, Ohio (102); and KEYT-DT, operated by Smith Media License Holdings’ ABC affiliate in by Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-San Luis Obispo, Calif. (122).
