NBA Finals Clinch Weekly Win for ABC

ABC won the week ended June 18 in the adults 18 to 49 demographic, with help from the top three-rated programs of the week in the demo: telecasts of the NBA Finals featuring the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks.

Game 5 of the NBA Finals was the top-rated program in the demo for the week with a 5.9 rating, a number that includes live viewing and same-day viewing via digital video recorders, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Game 3 came in second with a 5.1, followed by a 4.6 rating from Game 4. The top-rated nonsports program for the week was Fox’s Wednesday edition of reality series “So You Think You Can Dance,” which scored a 4.1. Rounding out the top five was NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” with a 4.0. The top-rated scripted program for the week was a repeat of CBS’s “CSI: Miami,” with a 3.9. That tied Thursday’s special edition of NBC newsmagazine “Dateline,” which featured an interview with performer Britney Spears.

ABC won the week with an average 2.5 in adults 18 to 49, followed by Fox (2.4), CBS (2.2), NBC (2.0), Univision (1.4), UPN (0.9), The WB (0.7) and Telemundo (0.4).
