Omnimedia Hires Two Former ABC Execs

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia said Wednesday it hired two former ABC executives for its broadcasting division.

Richard Claflin is joining the lifestyle company as VP of programming and will be responsible for the development of original TV shows and overseeing all shows currently in production. He reports to Sheraton Kalouria, president of broadcasting.

Mr. Claflin most recently was VP of comedy series development at ABC, where he was involved in the development and production of half-hour comedies, including “Hope & Faith,” “Eight Simple Rules” and “George Lopez.” Before that, Mr. Claflin was VP of series development at NBC.

The company also hired Jill Boulet-Gercourt as VP of marketing of the broadcasting division. She will be responsible for marketing, promotion and creative services of all of the company’s television series. She was most recently director of synergy at ABC Television Network, where she worked on integrated marketing strategies for ABC and parent The Walt Disney Co., following Disney’s 1995 acquisition of ABC.
