Sony’s ‘King of Queens’ Renewed in 50 Percent of the U.S.

Sony Pictures Television’s sitcom “King of Queens” has been renewed for a second cycle of syndication on a cash-plus-barter basis in more than 50 percent of the U.S., including 8 of the top 10 markets.

“King,” which debuted in syndication in 2003, has been renewed on stations belonging to a number of station groups, including Fox, CBS, Belo and Weigel, Sony said Monday in a statement.

“We’ve got a sitcom on the air that’s working,” said John Weiser, president of distribution for Sony.
