FX said it has ordered a fourth season of its firefighter drama series “Rescue Me” from Sony Pictures Television.

The new 13-episode season is tentatively scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2007. The show is currently midway through season three.

“Rescue Me” stars Denis Leary, who was nominated last week for an Emmy as best actor in a drama series. Mr. Leary, Peter Tolan and Jim Serpico will return as executive producers.

So far this season, ratings for the series are up 8 percent among viewers 18 to 49.
