HBO Wires Cingular Deal

HBO is teaming with Cingular Wireless to offer exclusive mini-episodes of “Entourage” and full-length episodes of several popular series to play on wireless devices.

The deal is one of HBO’s first major new media agreements. The three-minute “Entourage” episodes will include the full cast from the show. Full-length wireless content will include episodes of from the first season of “Entourage,” plus episodes of “Sex and the City,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and “Dane Cook’s Tourgasm.”

From the Television Critics Association press tour stage in Pasadena, Calif., on Wednesday, HBO Chairman and CEO Chris Albrecht also announced the network likely will order a vampire series from “Six Feet Under” creator Alan Ball and a new season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and likely will delay the return of “The Sopranos” from January to March 2007.
