Veteran ABC News investigative Chris Vlasto has been named senior broadcast producer of “Good Morning America.”

The announcement Thursday by new “GMA” senior executive producer Jim Murphy said that Mr. Vlasto will oversee the first hour of the morning show. The opening hour had been the responsibility of Tom Cibrowski, who was promoted to “GMA” executive producer when Mr. Murphy was hired.

Jessica Guff will continue as the senior broadcast producer in charge of the morning show’s second hour and the cast of contributors to the show. Stu Schwartz will continue as the senior broadcast producer in charge of day-to-day operations.

Mr. Vlasto comes from “Primetime Live,” where he was the senior investigative producer.
