Mendoza Promoted at CBS Comedy Development

Longtime CBS comedy executive Edy Mendoza has been promoted to VP of comedy development for the network.

Ms. Mendoza, who had been a director of comedy development since September 2001, will continue to develop and oversee CBS’s new comedy projects. She has worked on a number of CBS comedies including “Two and a Half Men” and “How I Met Your Mother,” as well as the debuting series “The Class.”

Wendi Trilling, executive VP of comedy series development, to whom Ms. Mendoza reports, announced the promotion Monday.

Ms. Mendoza joined the CBS comedy development department in September 1996 as an assistant to Ms. Trilling. Ms. Mendoza interned in the CBS media relations department from 1994 to 1996 while earning her bachelor’s degree in communications from UCLA.
