Microsoft to Provide Facebook Ads

Aug 23, 2006  •  Post A Comment

Microsoft struck a deal to become the exclusive provider of banner ads and sponsored links to social networking site Facebook, the companies announced today. The ads will appear in early fall.

Microsoft will power the ads with adCenter, its new ad platform introduced this spring to compete with Google’s AdWords. Terms of the deal were not disclosed

The Microsoft/Facebook alliance mirrors the deal Google inked earlier this month for $900 million to provide Web search results and sponsored links to Fox Interactive Media’s MySpace.com, the No. 1 social networking site.
