Fox wins week in adults 18-49

Fox was the top-rated network in adults 18 to 49 for the week ended Sept. 10, edging out NBC, which scored big with its prime-time telecasts of NFL football on Thursday and Sunday.

The Sunday night matchup of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning against his little brother, New York Giant Eli Manning, scored an 8.8 rating in adults 18 to 49, a number that includes live viewing plus same-day viewing via digital video recorders, according to Nielsen Media Research.

NBC’s special Thursday night game was No. 2 for the week in adults 18 to 49 with a 7.8, with the season premiere of Fox’s medical drama “House” on Tuesday (7.2) in third place. The season premiere of Fox’s Sunday night animated comedy “The Simpsons” finished fourth for the week with a 5.3. ABC’s telecast of its Saturday night college football game and the season premiere of Fox’s Tuesday drama “Standoff” tied for fifth place with a 4.8.

Fox won the week in adults 18 to 49 with a 3.6. NBC was second with a 3.5, followed by ABC (2.6), CBS (2.4), Univision (1.6), The WB (0.6) and Telemundo (0.4).
