G4 is teaming with Mel Brooks for an animated series based on the 1987 movie “Spaceballs.” The network has ordered 13 episodes of “Spaceballs: The Animated Series,” which will be produced by Brooksfilms Limited and Berliner Film Company, and will be distributed internationally by MGM Studios.

“As the go-to network for men 18 to 34, irreverent humor is one of the benchmarks of our programming philosophy, as is animation,” said Neal Tiles, president of G4.

Mel Brooks’ classic movies “Young Frankenstein” and “Blazing Saddles” are “just as relevant to our young male audience today as they were when they were first released,” Mr. Tiles said.

The series will debut in fall of 2007.
