“Saturday Night Live” cast member and writer Seth Meyers is replacing Tina Fey as a co-anchor on the NBC late-night comedy’s “Weekend Update” segment.

Mr. Meyers, who is entering his fifth season on “Saturday Night Live” and his second season as one of the show’s head writers, will co-anchor the segment with fellow cast member Amy Poehler. He shares head writing duties with Andrew Steele and Paula Pell.

Ms. Fey is leaving the show as a performer and a writer to focus on her upcoming NBC prime-time comedy “30 Rock.”

“Saturday Night Live” returns for its 32nd season on Sept. 30. The show is produced by SNL Studios in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
